Most people think they need hot water to cook Ramen pasta. For years, I have eaten Ramen's dough for camping trips, car rides and many other occasions when I was away from heat.
Ramen noodles generally cook for 3 minutes. The instructions say that you simply add the dough to the at least two cups of boiling water and you will be ready within 3 minutes.
The "cooked" Ramen pasta should fully absorb the water until soft. Heat helps to speed up this process, but it is definitely not necessary. Ramen pasta is as easy to absorb cold water as hot water. The main difference is that it lasts longer. Here is a brief guide to making Ramen dough without heat:
1. Look for a container that has at least 12 or 16 ounces of water.
2. Empty the dough package into the container
3. Fill the tank with cold water
4. Wait 30 minutes
5. Mix the seasoning
That's it. It's pretty simple, right? I found that 30 minutes is good enough for the dough to be completely soft. Sometimes I can wait an hour. The duration may vary depending on the water temperature. If it is very cold, it will last longer than lukewarm. Occasionally check that you are in a hurry.
Of course, this whole method assumes that you do not mind eating cold dough, but I've found it delicious when it's cold when it's hot.
